MLS recommends that these instructions are followed by the School's Network Manager.

Once installation is complete, you are ready to start using Eclipse.net. A shortcut will have been created on the desktop; however, the website may also be launched from the Start menu:

Click at the bottom-left of the screen.

Select All Programs / Micro Librarian Systems and then click Eclipse.NET.

The Eclipse.net homepage will be opened where the Librarian may click Log On to access the more advanced features, such as Management and Circulate.

The default user name is ‘Administrator’ and the password is ‘microlib’. The other default built-in user name is ‘Librarian’ and password of ‘password’ (the passwords are case-sensitive).

Once the Eclipse.net homepage has opened, please make a note of the URL as this will be needed to launch Eclipse.net on any given client workstation.

Eclipse.net Tools

Included in the Eclipse.net installation are the Configure, Converter and Error Log tools.

Configure

The Configure tool (also referred to as the 'Config tool' by the MLS Helpdesk) allows the user to view and edit the server settings entered when Eclipse.net was installed.

To access Configure, log onto the Eclipse.net server and select Start / All Programs / Micro Librarian Systems / Tools and then click Configure.

Converter

The Converter tool allows the user to convert an existing Eclipse2 database to be used Eclipse.net.

To access the Converter select Start / All Programs / Micro Librarian Systems / Tools and then click Convert Eclipse 2 or Junior Librarian Database.

For more information on how to convert an existing Eclipse2 database, please see the instructions in the separate conversion guide which is supplied on the Eclipse.net installation disc.

Error Log

The Error Log tool allows the user to view the Eclipse.net error log. If issues are experienced with Eclipse.net, the Help Desk may request that a copy of the error log is sent to them for diagnosis.

To access the Error Log select Start / All Programs / Micro Librarian Systems / Tools  and then click Error Log.

Once the Error Log is open, click on File / Send to MLS from the top menu bar. Type in the customer number along with any comments (if appropriate) in the Memo box, then click Ok. The error log will be sent to MLS.
