To add a new photograph of a student to a given borrower record card using the webcam feature, firstly open Circulate from the toolbox on the right side of an appropriate table in Management.

The user will see the Circulate screen. Scan the bar-coded PIN that belongs to a given borrower; alternatively, scan their RFID card or finger (if using RFID or IdentiKit hardware). This will open up the borrower’s account in Circulate.

Click on the WebCam .png){kind=small}
button from the Photograph section on the right side of the Circulate window.
To initialise the webcam, click on Start Capture and click Yes to the warning message that may appear which asks the user to give permission for Silverlight to use of the device.

The camera preview should then appear on-screen. Try to capture the photograph of the student within the guidelines, shown in a transparent grey over the camera preview.

When ready, click Take Snapshot to take the picture. Each time a picture is taken, a thumbnail is recorded in the sidebar. Review the thumbnails and choose which picture to use in the system for the borrower by highlighting it before clicking Select Snapshot.

The picture will be stored as the borrower photograph hereafter.
