The user may create sheets of barcode labels to be used on newly catalogued resources.
Click Modules / Labels / Generate Barcodes from the top horizontal menu from within Management.
The Generate Barcodes screen will appear.
Use the option to choose From which barcode number to begin printing. The number of Pages to be printed governs the range and last barcode number that will be created. Choose the appropriate media from the Style combo box.
Tick Unused Numbers Only in order to create new barcode numbers only, ones that are not yet on the system. Leaving this checkbox unticked allows the user to recreate existing barcode numbers that are already present in the catalogue.
Tick the Include School Name checkbox to have the name of the establishment printed alongside the number on each barcode.
Click Generate to create the list of barcodes.
The barcode labels are prepared and shown on-screen.
Click on the Print icon to send the barcode label sheets to the printer OR click on the Save icon to make a copy of the sheets in one of a number of open formats. The resultant file may be opened in a 3rd party application and printed at a later date if required.
Once the barcodes have been printed or saved, click on the X button to close the window and return to the previous screen.
Advanced options
Click on the Configure button to set advanced options (to be used only if required).
The Resource Format and Borrower Format drop-down lists allow the user to choose specific barcode lengths; allowing all numbers to be padded out to the set length with prefixed zeros.
Select either the system Default School Name or select Use Custom School Name and manually type in a new name. The chosen School name will be printed alongside each barcode number.
Click Save to confirm any changes and return to the Generate Barcodes window.
