In addition to linking borrowers to AD on a schedule, it is also possible to link them individually one at a time. This process does not require the borrower first name and surname to match the ones entered into Active Directory as the logon name is used to query the directory services instead.
·Open a borrower record card and click on the Advanced tab
·Type in the Windows logon name of the borrower into the Logon Name text box. You do not need to tick the Active Directory Linked box
·Next, click Save
The user will not be linked to Active Directory right away but this will occur next time the Directory Services task runs. As we have mentioned in other areas of this help section, this is different depending on whether you are using the hosted or local version of the library system. For users of the local system, refer to the installation guide. If you are running a version that is hosted by MLS, you will find full details in our online AD Troubleshooter.
