This section describes how you can enable fines and how to configure the system to apply them automatically when an overdue book is returned. Not all libraries use fines but you can enable or disable them as you see fit. If you choose to disable them then it will still be possible to make charges on a Borrower's account in Circulate and charge for resources when marking them as missing.

 

 

 

Fines are only available when you have an Eclipse.net license

 

 

The total fine is determined when a resource is returned. This is calculated based on the number of days the resource was overdue multiplied by the fine rate of the resource. For example, should a resource with a fine rate of 10p be 10 days overdue, when the resource is returned the fine will be £1.00.
