The Custom Catalogue table can be used as a repository to store bibliographic records. When you are adding books to your library system, it automatically checks the Custom Catalogue table for any records that contain the same EAN/ISBN. If the ISBN you scan matches one belonging to the Custom Catalogue, the bibliographic data is automatically added to the new record. Note that you cannot view Custom Catalogue records outside of the Custom Catalogue and they are not resources that you can issue, reserve, review etc. Should you be wanting to import the resources directly into your catalogue, see the topic Importing into the Catalogue.
You can import a US MARC (.mrc) or UK MARC (.ukm) file into the custom catalogue. The instructions below demonstrate how to do this.
·Open the Resources table from the left menu
·Access the Import menu from Tools / Import...
·Click the Upload File button

·Select Choose Files and select the MARC file to upload. The file will automatically begin uploading and return to the Import window.
·Select Marc 21 from the list of file types

·Click Import to begin importing the file into the Custom Catalogue. Once the system has processed the data, a screen will display showing you a summary of the records that have been processed.
