Barcodes can be generated and printed onto sticky labels using Modules / Labels / Generate Barcodes.

In the From box, enter a number to start from. Should you wish to re-use numbers of books that you have removed, you can enter the lowest number in your current catalogue and then check the "Unused numbers only" option.

In the Pages area, enter the number of pages you wish to print.

In the Style combo box, select the Label Style you wish to print the barcode labels onto. You should match the labels that you have put in the printer.

Should you want to only print numbers that haven't been used already (useful when you have gaps of missing barcode numbers in your catalogue) check the Unused Numbers Only check box.

If you would like to include the school name on the label, check the Include School Name option.

The information above shows how to use the system to automatically generate barcode labels. However, sometimes it is desired to apply certain formatting options to your barcodes. For instance, in cases where you wish to append a letter to the printed barcodes, (e.g. R4983) then you may need to enable some formatting options.

·Click Configure... to access the configuration settings.

·Under the Barcode Format heading, select the setting you wish to apply to the barcode number.

Click Automatic if you would like to use the default formatting options as defined in the Automatic Borrower / Resource section.

Select Manual if you would like to use a specific formatting for this run of labels. When you click Manual, notice how the Length and Character options become available. You should choose to enter a character, we recommend that you enter an upper case letter.

If you would not like to apply any formatting to the barcodes before they're outputted to a PDF, select No Formatting.

·Select whether you would like to show the school name on the label. Select Use Default School Name to include the school name from your license or click Use Custom School Name and type one into the available text box.

·Once you are happy with the settings, click Save

Note that these settings are reverted to the default on the next run of labels.

·When the you are happy with the chosen settings click Generate to create a PDF with the printed labels. You can then send the labels to the printer from your PDF reader.
