Accelerated Reader (AR) is a daily progress monitoring software assessment in wide use by Primary and Secondary Schools for monitoring the practice of reading, and it is created by Renaissance Learning Ltd.

Once a book has been read, the has the option of taking a quiz. The library system does not store the Accelerated Reader quizzes. However, it gives the Librarian a list of the books from the Library catalogue that have quizzes available. In addition, Borrowers can also see the quiz detail when browsing the catalogue from iMLS and the home page.

The Accelerated Reader quizzes must be purchased from Renaissance Learning Ltd. before attempting to integrate the MLS Library system with them. It is easy to import the AR quizzes and once set up, it will run automatically in the background. See the topic Importing AR Quizzes for more information. Once the quizzes have been imported, be sure to see the topic Locating Resources with AR Quizzes for details on how to view the resources with quizzes.

There are also videos demonstrating the Accelerated Reader integration that can be found in the video tutorials section for both Junior Librarian and Eclipse.
