In addition to marking individual resources as missing, you can mark multiple items as missing, in one go. This is useful in situations where you wish to remove a number of loans in one go, when you do not feel as though the resources are likely to return. The marking as missing process only recycles the items, which means that should the resource turn up again, you can restore it. The steps below explain how you can mark resources are missing in bulk.

·In Current Loans or Resources, select the resources you wish to mark as missing by using Flagging

·With the records flagged, click Missing on the right menu, under Records

·A box will display allowing you to enter a missing reason. Click OK when you have entered a missing reason

·A summary screen will display. If you have marked the resources as missing from Resources, all resources should be shown under the These items have been successfully marked as missing box. However, if you are marking multiple resources as missing from Current Loans, the items will remain in the second group, as shown below:

The system cannot immediately process these records because they are on loan and you may wish to return some resources and not others. In most cases, you will want to select them all by selecting Apply to all. If you would like to work through groups of resources at a time, check the ones you wish to process then click Apply to Checked.

·A prompt will display confirming you want to mark the resources as missing

Click Yes

·Now you will be able to choose how to process the records. Enter a missing reason (or select from the drop down), click Return Resource if you wish to return the items and enter a replacement cost to charge it to the borrower, if you wish to.

·Click OK when you are happy

·Lastly, click Close to the Mark as Missing summary box. The resources will be processed in the background.
